Took a small risk going with the Celery and am so glad I did. From across the room it reads as a quiet neutral but up close there are beautiful sage and oat undertones woven through it. Really sophisticated. We have it in our living room and it pulls the whole space together. Wool is unbelievably plush and the construction is clearly high end, not something I would say about most rugs I have owned. Also nice to know it's free of the chemical treatments a lot of rugs are loaded with. Easy ordering, fast shipping, would absolutely buy from Groundstory again.

This rug is stunning. We replaced an older rug in our master bedroom and the difference is night and day. Toast is such a warm, rich tone, photos really don't do it justice. The chevron is more refined in person than I expected, not at all geometric in a harsh way. It's the first thing I step on every morning and it feels amazing. Also appreciated that the whole process was easy, ordered on a Sunday and it arrived the following week with clear updates the whole way through. No notes.

Bought this for my home office and it's gorgeous. Fog is exactly what I was hoping for, a sophisticated gray that pairs well with the warm wood tones in the room. Pinstripe adds a tailored feel without being too on the nose. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is the edges were curled when I first laid it out and I was a little worried. Put a small box on each corner overnight and by the next morning it had completely flattened. Would have been 5 stars if not for that. Otherwise excellent, you can tell it's a real wool rug.

We've been slowly upgrading the house and the living room rug was next on the list. Did a lot of looking around at the higher end places and honestly the ordering process at most of them was a project in itself. Groundstory was refreshingly simple. The Crosshatch in Oat is even prettier in person than online, has a really nice texture that gives the room depth without being busy. Wool is incredible underfoot. The non toxic piece was a big factor for us too, baby on the way and we didn't want anything offgassing in the main living space.

What's the difference between Elementa and Estate?
Elementa is built for high-traffic rooms with spill-resistant performance fiber that handles daily life. Estate is a wool and nylon blend for the rooms you want to slow down in. Different rooms, different rugs.
Why is Estate a blend and not pure wool?
Because blended is better for real life. New Zealand wool gives Estate its warmth and texture. The nylon reduces shedding, adds durability, and helps colors stay vibrant longer. You get the feel of wool with better performance.
Will Estate shed?
A little, at first. Slight shedding is normal for new wool rugs and will diminish over time. Vacuum regularly with suction only and no beater bars.
Is Estate spill-resistant?
It handles everyday life, but it’s not a performance rug. Blot spills promptly and use a wool-safe detergent for spot cleaning. For high-traffic or spill-prone rooms, Elementa is the better fit.
What if something snags or pulls?
Trim it, don’t pull it. Pulling can loosen the weave. If something looks off, reach out and we’ll help.
Can I use Estate in a high-traffic area?
We’d steer you toward Elementa for that. Estate is best in bedrooms, home offices, and living rooms.
Do you recommend a rug pad?
Yes, especially on hard floors. It protects the rug and keeps it in place.
