What makes Elementa different from a washable rug?
Washable rugs are built to go in the machine which usually means they feel like one. Elementa is built to resist spills in the first place, with a look and feel of a real rug.
Is Elementa soft?
Yes. High-performance fiber has come a long way. Elementa is comfortable underfoot and doesn’t feel synthetic or stiff.
Can I use Elementa outdoors?
No, Elementa is designed for indoor use only.
Do you recommend a rug pad?
Yes. A rug pad extends the life of the rug, adds cushion, and keeps things in place.
Will Elementa shed?
No. You’re good.
What if something snags or pulls?
Don’t pull it, instead trim any snags with scissors. Pulling can loosen the weave. If something looks off, reach out and we’ll help you sort it out.
Are your rugs safe for kids and pets?
Yes. Both Elementa and Estate are certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 - an independent textile safety standard that tests every component against strict limits for over 1,000 harmful substances. The stuff you don't want on the floor where they spend time. More on the Materials page.
